MONTY THURSDAY-2019

MONTI-THURSDAY

Easter is a time
I remember everytime
The Easter Egg Chocolate
You brought me from Austria
In our Uduvil Ancestral home
Across Love lane memories
Echo over the oceans east to west
And reaches upto the heavens

From where now that you can see
The genuine hearts and compassion
That aches to recover our family home
By GOD's Grace Peacefully from the greedy -
The squatter (a Pastor to be... I hear,  Really?) who vanderalized
Selling the Antique Doors & Window panes, even tiles - disregarding
The sweat & blood of the GOD fearing owners
Multi generational two century aristocrate family
The spiritual value of Uduvil ancestral Homestead
To us - Beyond the monetary value

The Prayers grandma sent up to Jesus
Every evening at sunset in the backyard
As the chicken settle their picking order
On the branches of the old mango tree
The campassionate Western Medical care
My grandpa Doc rendered without payment
The meals at dinning table served prim & proper
Cut short to treat a patient in an emergency
The justified scolding on return he endured
While from under the table "Glory"we sang

Grand grandma to great grand children had trotted
Red cemented Portico to all the way years back
Into soft mud floored kitchen with stone 'kokaali'
Room and Chimney that bellows enticing smoke
From Grandma's tasty curries & sponge tea-cakes
The busy routine with servants she oversaw
Mending the fences, irrigating the exotic trees
Varities of Coconuts, Jackfruits, mangoes & Moringas
Coloring the newly hatched white down of chicks pink
To camaflouge from sight of ever petroling hawks in the sky
Sundrying washed paddy from the fields leased
Daily pounding & winnowing rice & pulses her helper ladies
Carefully picking out rots black & mildewed - will affect
your liver and the tiny stones, Appendics, she'd tell me
Those first & last breaths taken and farewells bid
With drum beats for Vellalar, she'd remind me the Honor & rights

The assuring strike of grandfather's clock in the hall
With checker board carved centered right on the floor
The lime stones embedded back varanda
Where the people were served to the brim on Bannana leaves at occassions
The wide blue doors & row of windows upstairs
The red roof tiles off of which I read 1865 & 1862
Only because I slept in the front room
Across grandpa's clinic room with lower roof
All this of my Uduvil Ancestral home on Manipay road
Hundred & ten, Across Love Lane near
The first  Girls Boarding school of S.E. Asia
As a child I belonged, grew entitled and bestowed!

Now a Doctor myself, Decree that my ancestral house in Uduvil
At Hundred & Ten across Love Lane
Be a Memorial Library onsite
For the Eternal Peace of my great Ancestors of Uduvil
Dr. Rajanayagam &Wife Lily A. - daughter of Dr. Breckenridge
Who reached out to the deprived and now through me
To expand the horizon of every growing child
To see the Oneness of the world
That we all deserve Respect and Peace
The humble awareness of the delicate LIFE...
A gift to make the world a Loving Home
For all A better place to rejoice
And give Thanks to God Almighty
We call by Thousand names!

This is Not a farewell
for we shall meet...
To Rejoice in Heaven
Till then I shall
Toil to fulfil GOD's Will!

I am my mothers' Daughter
