After 40 days of fasting
No meat
No Breakfast
My grandmother would make poolore rice.
A chewy rice steamed in woven coconut leaf cone shaped basket, and boiled with thick coconut milk and jaggary or sugar. It's so tasty and I have never eaten this anywhere else.
She had been doing this every Easter for breakfast, at our ancestral home (see photo) - where we grew up &which is still our family's home. This had been our family tradition.
Risen Christ was what I witnessed everyday as a child. I still vividly remember that picture of Christ rising into the clouds, hanging up above the hall door frame in the Portico. I always felt he was carrying me on his shoulders... my ONLY father, protecting me always!
When my GOD is with me, what more could I want * for he shall oint my head and feast with me... raising me to new heights!
I am my mothers' daughter,
